The Irondale Chapter of the National Honor Society strives to respect the tradition and rich values of the National Honor Society. This Chapter provides an environment where our members can reach out and help their local community, while embodying the Four Pillars of the National Honor Society:

Overview of Chapter Bylaws
Meetings
-Once a month in the auditorium & start at 6:45 (doors close at 6:50)
-May miss one meeting without consequence
-Missing 2nd Meeting: additional 2 volunteer hours
-Missing 3rd Meeting: will force us to recommend your membership for dismissal
-Any questions/concerns, contact one of us!
Dues
-Used for projects & activities (homeless sleep out)
-$10 due immediately
-Any concerns, contact Ms. Matthews
-Please bring in to student services, or room 312
-Make sure your name is on the dues
Service Hours
-Must complete 20 volunteer hours by the end of the school year, including chapter service project
-Hours may not be completed for family members, political campaigns, or groups of which you are a primary beneficiary
-Juniors: If you do not complete your 20 hours this year, the unfinished hours will be doubled and added on to next year
-Seniors: If you do not complete your 20 hours plus any doubled unfinished hours from last year, you will not be able to graduate with honors

As leaders of the school, you are expected to follow all school, district, and MSHSL rules and regulations
If you do not follow these rules, we will have to consider your case and whether or not you should continue your membership in our chapter
Scholarship
-You are expected to maintain a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.33 throughout the school year
If your GPA falls below this point, you will receive a written warning letter that will outline your warning period and plan of action.
